New Prints - from my favorite new paintings

Well actually it's Nevada City, CA.

Ihave a lovely warm and dry and bright studio.

Come by!

Some friends and I are involved in starting a new publishing company: Teahouse of Danger. We'll be publishing books, prints, and tshirts. Can't say too much now, we're working on new titles and so forth, and the website hasn't quite caught up. But get on our mailing list and we'll keep you informed of current events...

Moved. I've moved back to Grass Valley, CA, after a wonderful 7 years in Massachusetts. My feet just started to hurt too much! A bit too cold.

I'll be blogging about the travel and performance adventures pretty soon...

New 2008 Shows up-coming:

Lush Life Lounge at the Jazz Heritage Society in San Francisco. Reception Friday Sep 5, 5-8pm.

20th Street Gallery in Sacramento, Reception Saturday Oct. 11 6-9pm

I Am A Dog published by Teahouse of Danger. More Douglass Truth books to be released by Jan 2009: Revolution of Flowers, The Douglass Truth Story (uh, a parody autobiography...), and Death As A Salesman. We're working as well on House of the Magician and What I Did Today.

My twin sister Dorothy, with whom I have an on-and-off friendship - you know how family things go - did a performance of her piece Death As A Salesman at the legendary Dreamaway Lodge in Becket, Mass. last Sunday, May 7. We look forward to the many necessary improvements, and maybe even a DVD based on the show. We'll also be scheduling another performance of A Pittsfield Story sometime later this summer.

Since then we've done the show in Oracle, AZ, Riverside, CA, North San Juan, CA, and Grass Valley CA, and Pittsfield MA. We're looking forward to a Southwest tour winter 08-09.

NEWS - July 2004

Douglass Truth in The Artful Mind magazine. Interview by Karl Saliter. Here's the text of the interview.

John Shahabian, owner of the Jumpstart Cafe in Sacramento, has supported my work ever since I walked into his coffee shop with my weird t-shirts. He's got a lot of my paintings all over the place - and now someone's filming a movie in Sac, and Jumpstart is one of the shooting locales. here's some info on the movie. See it if it ever makes it to the mall!

NEW GALLERY - The Outsiders Art Gallery

we're thrilled and proud to be the newest artist shown by The Outsiders Art Gallery in Kent, Connecticut. Our first show will be in August and September - with the opening on August 24. The gallery is located at the intersection of Roads 7 and 45 near Kent. For more info, visit the website.

As part of North Adams First Friday Art Walk, I'll be doing a show and reading at Papyri Books in North Adams, MA, July 2. I'll be reading from Revolution of Flowers (as Van Morrison sang, "It's almost Independence Day...."). The show will up for about a month. For more info, call Papyri Books or email us. Music will be served, as well.

I'm proud to have my Sheeptacular Sheep featured on the cover of the Berkshire Eagle's Sheeptacular supplement. Stop by downtown Pittsfield and check out these amazing fiberglass ruminants. Mine's in front of Maggie Mailer's studio, looking up at my sheep's sponsor, Link to Life. Hi Maggie! BAAAAAAA!

UPDATE: The Sheeptacular auction was a mind-blowing success - the top sale price for a sheep was $11,000 !!! - mine sold to someone for $4500. The entire auction raised over $275,000.

The Storefront Artist Project just keeps cranking on, blowing away the most optimistic expectations. The Think Tank fundraiser was the party of the month with at least 400 guests, music, dance, readings, auction, the works. Taking up the entire top floor of the Howard Building. All praise to Meryl Joseph, Maggie Mailer, Joe Wheaton, Megan Whilden, the Nash Bros., and others too many to mention. Wow!
